Brioche Bread Recipe

Ingredients

3 cups Bread Flour

1/2 cup Sugar (1 tbsp. more for the yeast)

3 tbsp. Butter

1 tsp. Salt

3 Eggs

1 1/2 cups Warm Milk

7 grams Instant or Active Dry Yeast

Directions

  1. In a large bowl add warm milk, 1 sachet of active dry yeast, 1 TBSP of sugar.
  2. Stir well & wait 10 to 15 mins for proof.
  3. Once the yeast is activated, add 3 cups of bread flour, 1 tsp of salt, 3 eggs, half cup of sugar. Mix all the ingredients well with spatula.
  4. Once all the ingredients combined together start to knead the dough.
  5. Dough will be very sticky when or wet keep adding flour accordingly & grease hand with oil.
  6. Once dough is kneaded cover & let it rest in a warm place (in microwave/oven) for 1 to 2 hours until it proofs.
  7. Once to dough proofs it’s ready, knead the dough and make your desired bread shape.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  9. Grease your bread loaf pan with butter and let the dough rest for 60mins for proofing.
  10. Once the dough proofs, egg wash the top of the dough & place in the oven for 30 to 35 mins.
  11. Let the bread completely cool off before slicing.

Tips

  • This ratio of milk to flour will yield a bread consistency similar to ones in supermarkets. Feel to experiment with a higher milk ratio for a softer bread.
  • Add raisins and dry nuts along with bakers sugar to turn this into the perfect evening chai snack.
